Trinity Steel Participates in Kiewit Bootcamp

Posted on: July 22nd, 2013 by admin

Trinity Steel hosted Kiewit’s newest construction professionals as part of a “bootcamp” to introduce them to the different facets of structural steel fabrication.   While the half day session did include some classroom time discussing how to optimize the structural steel projects for maximum value to the end customer, Trinity Steel wanted them to get their hands a little dirty out in our shop.  The shop tour for  the trainee’s went beyond the basic walk through and they experienced the amount of work that goes into cutting, punching fitting and welding steel for industrial projects.    With safety paramount and under supervision of our craftsman,  the trainee’s cut beams with a torch, started the plate processing machine, and punched holes in thick steel plate.  “We were glad they all had a good experience and a little fun while training,” said Tim Nolte, Director of Marketing. “Kiewit has been a valued customer for many large industrial projects with Trinity Steel Fabricators and we are glad to give back to their up and coming construction professionals”.

Posted on: June 5th, 2012 by admin

Today, Trinity Steel Fabricators was awarded a contract for a large pipe rack section by BIS Tepsco in support of the construction of the Enterprise Products NGL fractionators in Mont Belvieu.  The pipe rack, consisting of over 3,000 tons of structural steel, will serve to as a connection point between the fractionation units.

The Enterprise fractionation unit expansion is one in many steps taken by natural gas industry to absorb and utilize the abundant Eagle Ford and Rocky Mountain shale gas.  A main product produced from the fractionation process is ethane, which is used as a feedstock local chemical manufacturer’s use in production.  The low cost of this ethane gives US based chemical companies a cost advantage in their final products not seen in over 12 years.

At projects end the total fractionation capacity will reach 610,000 b/d at the Mont Belvieu site, a capacity that is double from three years ago.   The facility is expects to begin service in fourth-quarter 2013 with the bulk of the structural steel being delivered by Trinity Steel Fabricators in fourth-quarter 2012.
